Digital and intelligent construction enters the hub, small robots shoulder the great responsibility of "national infrastructure"

Recently, at the construction site of the Wenzhou South Railway Station related construction project undertaken by China Railway Construction 22nd Bureau Group, plastering robots are operating steadily along the walls, with even scraping, flat plaster layers, and straight corners. Behind them stands an intelligent construction participating enterprise called "Ronghao Zhijian".

"We don't have any other great skills, we just want to use intelligent equipment to make a small contribution to the country as well." A single sentence from the on-site technical leader of Ronghao Zhijian revealed the simple original intention of this enterprise in participating in the construction of Wenzhou South Railway Station.

Robots on the walls, traditional processes are transformed

As a regional important transportation hub project, Wenzhou South Railway Station has a large scale, high standards, and a tight construction schedule. In the past, wall plastering relied on manual labor, with workers carrying mortar, applying it to the walls, and leveling it. After a day's work, their backs and arms would ache, and the quality was affected by hand feel.

This time, Ronghao Zhijian brought plastering robots to the construction site: automatic material feeding, automatic leveling, controllable thickness, and a uniform wall appearance. In the construction of large-area standard walls, the efficiency is significantly improved compared to traditional manual labor, the risk of hollow spots and cracking is reduced, and later repairs are fewer.

"Robots do the repetitive work, and workers do the detailed and supervisory work." The project team of China Railway 22nd Bureau stated that plastering robots are not replacing people, but rather liberating experienced workers from heavy physical labor, making human-machine collaboration more stable and professional.

Digital and intelligent center + intelligent equipment, station building construction improves quality

The China Railway 22nd Bureau Wenzhou South project itself is promoting "digital and intelligent construction": drone inspections, smart large screens, intelligent rebar processing, and concrete finishing and curing robots have long entered the site.

The addition of Ronghao Zhijian's plastering robots completes a piece of the puzzle for "replacing people with machines" in the decoration process—from structure to decoration, from ground to wall, intelligent equipment is starting to form a continuous line.

On the large screen of the project's digital and intelligent center, progress, safety, and quality data are jumping in real-time. Plastering thickness, flatness, and verticality can be recorded and traced back; which wall was done by whom and what the parameters were is clear at a glance.

Not showing off skills, but truly saving labor and ensuring quality for the country

Infrastructure is the foundation of national development. The earlier the station building is delivered with high quality, the smoother the passenger flow will be; the fewer times a wall needs repair, the less material waste and carbon emissions there will be.

Ronghao Zhijian takes this matter very seriously:

Reducing the labor intensity of high-altitude and repetitive operations to protect the workers' health;
Controlling quality through standardized processes, as less rework means saving costs;
Leaving a data trail for later operation and maintenance to have a basis for checking;
Bringing "intelligent construction" from PPTs to the real walls of Wenzhou South Railway Station.

"Being able to contribute to the hub project of a large state-owned railway construction enterprise is what a private technology enterprise should be like," said the head of Ronghao Zhijian.

Looking out from the Wenzhou South Railway Station construction site, tower cranes stand tall and steel rails extend. The plastering robots buzz, sounding not loud, but hiding the choice of a new generation of builders:
